The Meadow

Gathering Times for Babies - Pre-Kindergarten
Bitty KIDS gather in The Meadow on Sunday Mornings
from 9:45am until 12:00pm.

At Cornerstone, we believe that hearing and engaging ourselves in God's story is important for all ages from birth to adult!  The Meadow is a place for children, ages Birth through Pre-K, to gather and hear the stories of God's word and His love for them.

We know that "young children love stories, and [God's Word] is full of them.  Children relish exciting adventures," and "because the primary way infants, toddlers, and preschoolers learn is through play, stories are most likely to stick with young children when they 'play' the stories rather than just 'hear' them.  By engagin children's bodies, [we hope to also] engage children's minds. [Our] children's workers teach simple Bible stories and basic theological concepts through games [and play].  By playing games based on Scripture, [we're sharing] the idea that speding time with God's Word is fun." (From Tippy Towers & Boo Blankets: Bible Play for Tiny Tots, Loveland: Group Publishing, 2001.)

Learning That God Gave Us Family
The Meadow is located on the main floor, accesible to parents at all times.  "For all ages, it's important to create a climate of caring--a place where children feel loved and at home.  One of the central messages of the Christian faith is that we belong to a caring community."  (From Tippy Towers & Boo Blankets: Bible Play for Tiny Tots, Loveland: Group Publishing, 2001.) That's why we strive to make sure The Meadow is a place where kids can be safe, loved, and nurtured.

With large viewing windows--for parents to peek in at any time--and check-in procedures, babies and preschoolers are in a safe environment.

NOTE: Check-in Check-out policy is simply a number system.  Check-in will be in each individual classroom.  Upon arriving your family will receive a number.  That number will be on your child(ren)s name tag and all belongings.  YOU MUST present the number upon dismissal.

To ensure the safety of all children, The Meadow has a Snack Free policy. This is so children with allergies and other food concerns may safely attend "The Meadow".  If your child does need to eat or drink during their visit to The Meadow, arrangements can be made with their teacher.

NOTE:  If a teacher is planning an activity that involves food there will be a sign posted at the classroom door.
